In mid 2022, our small team launched SeniorsForMikeLee.com. We noticed that seniors were not being strongly considered in the Utah Senatorial campaigns, and wanted to give the seniors of Utah a voice during that election. We interviewed and posted the thoughts of many seniors. They weren’t are words, they were yours. And they were effective.
Not only did Senator Lee handily win his campaign, but our team was recognized with a 2023 Pollie Award for our print ads, which is like receiving an Oscar in the world of political advertising.
During this election cycle, where, in our opinions, many of the candidates did not match our values and expectations, we put forward Senator Lee in a new campaign called Mike Lee for U.S. president. It has been our honor to see that we have many loyal readers, and thank you for your visits.
Recently, the glue of our team and the director of our project passed away from complications with cancer. We were planning on winding down this project as we got closer to Election day, but this heartbreaking loss to our team means that this will be our last post.
We selected Senator Lee because he is fearless in standing for correct values and believes that the Constitution was inspired document and is still the foundation of our country. We invite each of you to likewise be fearless in standing for those things that you believe and that will help America stay strong in its Constitutional roots.
So again, thank you for joining us. All the best.
It has been a busy month for Senator Mike Lee! Not only did he join in a historic social media broadcast earlier this week, but he has tackled difficult and significant issues with important press releases. Here are some highlights:
Senator Lee on Abortion
At the end of January, Senator Lee introduced four bills to protect the rights of the unborn: Abortion is not Health Care Act, the Protecting Life in Health Savings Accounts Act, the Protecting Life in Foreign Assistance Act, and the Guaranteeing the Unborn Access to Respect and Dignity (GUARD) Act. Each of these bills were largely aimed at limiting federal spending going toward abortion costs in different contexts.
Senator Lee on Child Internet Safety:
Earlier this month, Senator Lee introduced the Preventing Rampant Online Technological Exploitation and Criminal Trafficking (PROTECT) Act. This act was presented in a senate hearing with several of the largest tech company’s CEO’s, including Meta (Facebook, Instagram) CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. Lee accused these major companies of not doing enough to prevent the uploading and viewing of underage pornography, as well as not preventing minors from being able to easily gain access to pornography themselves. The PROTECT Act would essentially require additional consent and verifications for those wishing to view or upload pornography.
Senator Lee on the Border Crisis:
Senator Lee attacked the current bill trying to alleviate the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. He wrote a list of what he called, “The Dirty Dozen Secrets” of the currently proposed border act that he claimed would likely exacerbate the current crisis at the wall. You can read his article by clicking here.
Thank you Senator Lee for your excellent and diligent work. We stand behind you this President’s Day.
Mike Lee should run for president. He’s right on the money.

Thank you Senator Lee for continuing to stand up for the rights of all Utahns.
Today, we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. day for his landmark accomplishments in Civil Rights. One of the most remarkable aspects of his accomplishments is he preached peaceful resolutions to incredibly controversial issues.
He never declared war. He never encouraged violence. He preached of a better America that gave equal rights and opportunities to its citizens of all color.
We live in a sometimes contentious time, but we can follow Dr. King’s example and disagree better. We do not have to devolve into the hateful rhetoric that sometimes permeates the world of politics.
We believe Mike Lee strives for this as he pursues his discussions in the Senate. There are times when he proposes bills that vehemently disagree with policies or viewpoints held in the Senate, but he strongly but respectfully is able to defend his position.
Thank you Senator Lee for your approach in these difficult situations.
Mike Lee should run for president. He’s right on the money.
Thank you for visiting! Please visit us again Monday February 19 (President’s Day), for our next update.
Thank you Senator Lee for your good representation of Utah and its values.
Today is the 128th anniversary of Utah becoming a state. According to Utah.gov, “From his White House office, President Grover Cleveland, on Saturday, 4 January 1896, issued the proclamation admitting Utah to the Union as the forty-fifth state. Two days later, 6 January 1896, the newly elected officers of the state of Utah were inaugurated, and celebrations erupted throughout the new state.”
The Lee’s have served our wonderful state for multiple generations, with Rex Lee serving as the 10th president of Brigham Young University and his sons, Thomas serving as a Utah Supreme Court Justice from 2010-2022 and Mike serving as a Senator from 2010 to the present.
The state of Utah and its citizens have made many contributions to the United States and continue to do so.
In the past month, Senator Lee has been involved in many significant bills being presented to the Senate, including:
Thank you Senator Lee for defending the values and right of the citizens of our great state.
Mike Lee should run for president. He’s right on the money.

Thank you Senator Lee for your diligent focus on the Constitution during the recent political decisions surrounding the election. Senator Lee has voiced strong concerns on his Twitter page regarding the state of Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to not allow Donald Trump on the ballot.
December 23 is the birthday of Joseph Smith, the first president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his day, he dealt with frustrating political issues as well. With the saints facing intense persecution in Missouri, and even having an extermination order put on their lives, Joseph Smith arranged a meeting with U.S. President Martin Van Buren to address the persecution. President Van Buren told them their cause was just, but said that he could not help them or he would lose the vote of Missouri.
Frustrated, Joseph Smith wrote the five leading candidates for U.S. President in the 1844 election. Only three provided replies, but all said basically they could offer no help for the saints, even if they became President. At the urging of John Taylor and B.H. Roberts, two members of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles, Joseph entered the race as a presidential candidate.
John Taylor led the press efforts in Joseph’s campaign and told those campaigning: “Tell the people who would be the best man, and the most able statesman; who could stand uncorrupted by bribes, and uninfluenced by power, other than the power of justice, and the cause of right; tell them where they can find a man of morality, purity, and virtue; tell them where they can find a man of sterling integrity, who is governed by the principles of righteousness; a patriot and a philanthrophist, who has both the disposition and moral fortitude to administer justice, and whose delight it would be to administer to the wants of the nation; to “break of[f] every yoke and to let the oppressed go free.” Use all of your own influence, and get the brethren, in every part to use theirs also. Recollect, for President, GENERAL JOSEPH SMITH.[50]“
Joseph loved the saints, the country, and the freedoms granted by the Constitution. When he was considering running he wrote the following in his journal:
“It is one of the first principles of my life, and one that I have cultivated from my childhood, having been taught it of my father, to allow everyone the liberty of conscience. I am the greatest advocate of the Constitution of the United States there is on the earth. (Joseph Smith, Journal, 15 Oct. 1843, JS Collection, Church History Library)
It was ultimately his assassination and martyrdom that would end his campaign. However, his legacy remains as he has encouraged us to seek out candidates with strong moral character and a love of freedom. That’s why we are encouraging the candidacy of Senator Mike Lee. Not only does he espouse these virtues, but he is right on the money.
Mike Lee should run for president. He’s right on the money.

And, of course…
Thank you Senator Lee for your push for government accountability concerning how they manage tax payer money, arms, and most importantly, the lives of our soldiers in recent wars.
Today is the 82nd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. We honor the memory of those that gave the ultimate sacrifice on this day.
We also take the opportunity to reflect on our current conflicts. Senator Mike Lee has shared his views on how these conflicts are being mishandled, and as mentioned in previous posts (https://mikeleeforuspresident.com/columbus-day-updates-on-a-busy-week-for-senator-lee), has introduced the “Define the Mission Act” to increase government accountability when engaging in war.
Senator Lee does not seem anti-war. He states on his website, “Providing for the common defense is one of the federal government’s primary constitutional obligations. Both the President and Congress have significant responsibilities in this area to set the policies that keep our country safe.”
He continues, “Broadly, we must evaluate our most pressing national security goals and put forth the appropriate resources necessary to achieve those objectives. And where we commit resources, especially with regard to putting our men and women in harm’s way, we must have a clear national security interest, a well-articulated purpose, an understanding of the potential costs involved, and a responsible plan for success.” https://www.lee.senate.gov/national-defense
With that said, we perceive one current trend Senator Lee finds disturbing: the wasting of American resources, whether it be tax payer dollars, equipment and supplies, or American lives. He denounces this government waste, especially in “endless wars”:
“Ukraine is officially America’s new endless war.”
“The deep state’s memory is short and rose-tinted. The Biden administration employs the same rhetoric and tactics that the Bush and Obama administrations used to conduct indefinite military engagement in Afghanistan and Iraq, not to mention undeclared intervention in Libya, Syria, and beyond. With billions flowing from the U.S. to the Ukrainian government in ‘economic support,’ long-term security guarantees, and the reconstruction effort already underway, we can’t help but feel a sense of deja vu.”
“The United States is heading down the same path that mired us in Middle Eastern conflicts for over two decades, all without clearly articulating the objective or how victory is achieved.” https://www.lee.senate.gov/2023/10/ukraine-is-officially-america-s-new-forever-war-president-biden-how-does-this-end
We feel it is important to defend democracy and its ideals worldwide. However, it is also important to ensure that our own country remains strong, with sufficient resources both for its military and its people. In our opinion, Lee is simply asking for accountability, goals, and oversight when utilizing our resources in war.
Mike Lee should run for president. He’s right on the money.

We want to take a moment today, Thanksgiving, to express our gratitude to you our readers. We can see that many of you have visited us multiple times viewing our various updates. We are very grateful for your support.
We are grateful for our country, our freedoms, and the right to vote and to voice our opinions.
We are also grateful to Senator Lee for the work he has done recently. Working in a bipartisan effort, he has helped introduce a bill for Secure Privacy Protection. This bill is aiming to amend some of the governmental powers to spy on its citizens granted under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, such as being able to monitor to personal phone calls and e-mails. The creators of the bill say there needs to be a better balance between obtaining the information to keep people safe and disregarding privacy rights granted to them by the Constitution. You can learn more about the bill by clicking here.
Senator Lee also recently reintroduced the SCREEN Act, which is aimed to limit access to pornography by young children. Similar acts that Senator Lee has advocated have passed before, but when challenged in the Supreme Court, they have been overturned on the grounds of not meeting the least restrictive means test. The Supreme Court did concede that the government does have a responsibility to protect children from pornography, so this bill is meant to both provide those protections and meet the law’s requirements. You can learn more about this bill by clicking here.
These efforts show Senator Lee would make an excellent president.
Happy Thanksgiving from Seniors for Responsible Government

Thank you for visiting! Please visit us again on Pearl Harbor Day, Thursday December 7, for our next update.
We are a product of those who came before us. Their lives and choices help shape who we are. Russell M Nelson said, “When our hearts turn to our ancestors, something changes inside us. We feel part of something greater than ourselves.”
Senator Mike Lee has a good pedigree. His Grandfather, Rex Lee Sr. (1905-1934), was labeled by those who knew him as an honest attorney, despite his young age. He tragically died in a hunting mishap on this day 89 years ago, November 11, 1934.
With regard to Veteran’s Day, Senator Lee said, “America owes its veterans and their families an enormous debt of gratitude for putting themselves at risk to protect our rights and freedoms. Some have made the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard our lives, and for that, Americans will be forever grateful.” – From his website
Mike Lee’s great uncle, Warren Lambert Hussey (1896-1976) served in World War I, both in Florida and overseas in 1918-1919, before being honorably discharged from service.
As Senator Lee has said, “The family is the most basic and essential building block of American society, and strong families are the best predictor of financial, educational, and emotional success in life.” Five years after returning from the war, Hussey married his life long sweetheart, Pearl Clark, and they raised two children as he served most of his career in the US Railroad Mail Service. They remained committed to each other until his death in 1976.

Happy Birthday tomorrow, Janet Lee Chamberlain.
Behind every great man is a great mother. Senator Mike Lee’s mother, Janet Lee Chamberlain is one of the great ones.
Janet supported her husband, Rex, who would become famous in his service as United States Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division, Solicitor General of the United States, and President of Brigham Young University. Not only did Janet accompany him on many of his adventures and assignments, but she successfully raised their seven children during these years.
In her speeches while serving BYU, she explained that she prioritized teaching her children the value of hard work and overcoming obstacles.
Her sons, Mike and Thomas would become public figures in their own right. Thomas became a Justice on the Utah Supreme Court for twelve years. Senator Mike Lee, currently in his third term in the U.S. Senate is one of the nation’s foremost experts about the Constitution.
Both sons were also on President Donald Trump’s short list to serve on the United States Supreme Court, Mike in 2018 and Thomas in 2020. A Fox News reporter once credited Janet for that success because of the way she “raised her boys.”
“…The hand that rocks the cradle, is the hand that rules the world.” –William Ross Wallace
Because of Janet Lee Chamberlain’s considerable hand in Mike Lee’s life, we would be in good hands with him as our PRESIDENT. Thank you Janet, for your contributions to America.
On Senator Lee’s Facebook Page, he made a touching tribute to his mother: “I’m grateful for my mom, who’s consistent example has always made me want to be more kind, patient, forgiving, and considerate.”
Thank you Senator Lee for your example. You seem to have the proper attitude about your mother.
Mike Lee should run for president. He’s right on the money.

Thank you Senator Lee for speaking up about the speakership. Along with you, we wish Rep. Jim Jordan success in the race for Speaker of the House.
In honor of Columbus Day we thought we would nickname the three waterfronts that Mike Lee is battling after Christopher Columbus’s three famous ships.
#1 The Nina – The Define the Mission Act
According to Senator Lee, the United States has already given $113 billion in support to Ukraine with $24 more billion requested. Senator Lee, along with others are asking the White House to give an accountability on the following before being granted more aid:
https://www.lee.senate.gov/2023/9/lee-introduces-define-the-mission-act
#2 The Pinta – Repeal the FACE Act
The FACE Act allows for government interference to peaceful protests outside abortion facilities. Senator Lee has correctly identified that this act is being abused and interfering with the freedom of speech rights granted by the Constitution. Of the bill, Senator Lee said, “Our Constitution reserved general police power to the states. Congress infringed on the states’ police power when they passed the FACE Act. The Biden DOJ has weaponized this constitutionally suspect law against pro-life sidewalk counselors while failing to protect pregnancy centers and churches from violent attacks. It’s time to repeal the FACE Act.”

#3 The Santa Maria – Protecting Our Kids from Harmful Research Act
On October 5th, Senator Mike Lee introduced the Protecting Our Kids from Harmful Research Act, a bill prohibiting federal funding of gender transition research on minors. Medical interventions to transition gender are experimental, irreversible, and often fail to produce the intended effects of improving patients’ mental health. This bill would prohibit federal funding from being used in research or publications that seek to establish or affirm gender identities that are incongruent with a minor’s biological sex.
